THE LIMESTONE COAST A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE Regional Development Australia Limestone Coast has recently produced promotional materials as part of a project funded by the State Government to regionalise the South Australian Strategic Plan, to encourage people to live in the region. These materials include a booklet, DVD and website.
Thinking of a move? Looking for something different? Perhaps you are planning to settle in South Australia and would like to try your hand at country life? Look no further – the Limestone Coast region offers some excellent opportunities to invest in business, gain valuable career building experiences and to achieve the lifestyle you and your family are looking for. So just where is the Limestone Coast? Situated in the far south eastern corner of South Australia, it is located approximately mid way between the State’s capital Adelaide, and Melbourne in Victoria. The region stretches from the stunning Coorong and Tatiara district in the north to the coastal fishing villages of Robe and Port MacDonnell on the west and in the south, and the Victorian border to the east. The Limestone Coast’s natural wonders, employment opportunities, cultural attractions, easy-living climate and safe, welcoming lifestyle are all waiting for you! The region’s natural and built environments are inextricably linked to limestone. It sits upon a series of ancient coastlines made of the chalky, white stone, hence the name ‘Limestone Coast’. The limestone filters fresh underground water for domestic and industrial use, provides building materials for homes and roads and is the base of the rich soil that yields its diverse produce. LIMESTONE COAST AQUACULTURE The Limestone Coast Region of South Australia offers significant potential for development of an economically viable and environmentally sustainable aquaculture industry. "Limestone Coast Aquaculture" is an initiative of the South East Local Government Association (SELGA), on behalf of the seven councils in the region. The website contains relevant technical information for individual Council areas in relation to establishing aquaculture ventures within the Council boundaries. www.lcrdb.com/aquaculture
