THE LIMESTONE COAST REGIONLimestone Coast Map

The Limestone Coast region (South East of South Australia) covers 21,376 square kilometres (2.1 million hectares). The region supports a population of over 60,000 people, with many of South Australia's key resource based companies, headquartered within the region. Agriculture, Forestry and Viticulture have thrived on the fertile soils, reliable rainfall and abundant underground water. Well established industry expertise provide avenues for medium and long term growth prospects and a secure future.

Limestone Coast Attraction Packages

Regional Development Australian Limestone Coast Board has now completed the final stage of its Skilling Up for Business Growth project, with the production of Limestone Coast “Attraction Packages”.

An important part of this project was the development of these Attraction Packages, as a means of attracting people to the region to invest and take up job opportunities. Packages include information about the region; employment opportunities; the economic and industrial base; cultural and recreational opportunities; natural resources; and social services.

Some 1,000 copies of the Package have been produced and the Board has distributed the Packages to local Councils, Job Network Providers, Visitor Information Centres, the State Government’s Migration Department and other organisations that may receive enquiries from people interested in moving into the Limestone Coast Region.

The Attraction Packages were part of a two staged approach aimed at increasing regional population, with the second stage being the development of a Welcoming Strategy to assist new resident’s when they move into the region. The LCRDB commissioned Lifeline SE in 2002 to carry out a Pilot Welcoming Strategy in the Naracoorte Lucindale Council and the success of this Strategy saw Lifeline successfully obtain Commonwealth Government funding, to extend the pilot right across the Limestone Coast.

Production of the Attraction Packages and the Pilot Welcoming Strategy was made possible through a funding grant received from the Commonwealth Government’s Department of Transport and Regional Services.

Copies of the Package can be obtained by contacting the LCRDB Office on 87231057, by email info@lcrdb.com or by downloading the following PDF file below.
