COMPANY PROFILE

The South East Economic Development Board Inc was established in 1992 in partnership with State and Local Government to develop the potential of the region. The Board is jointly funded by the State Government (through the Office of Regional Affairs) and the South East Local Government Association. In June 2001 the Board decided to change their name to the Limestone Coast Regional Development Board to support the region's brand name 'Limestone Coast'.

The key objective of the Board is to "grow the economic base of the region". This objective will be achieved by the Board, as it delivers services and carries out a range of activities associated with economic development including:

  • Provide Small Business with New and Expansion Development Assistance
  • Facilitate and Support Industry Development
  • Provide Current and Potential Exporters with New and Expansion Development Assistance
  • Identify Industry Opportunities
  • Attract New Business Investment into the Region
  • Develop Regional Infrastructure
  • Provide Community Leadership on Economic Development Issues
  • Assist with Interface between Regional Community/Business and Government
  • Provide Advice on Various Government Programs
  • Facilitate Employment Creation and / or Retention Opportunities
  • Facilitate Education and Training Opportunities

WORKFORCE SURVEY

Helen Strickland - Population, Workforce and Career Development Project Manager with the Limestone Coast Regional Development Board would very much appreciate your involvement in filling out a workforce development survey online.
The Survey will take approximately 10 - 15 minutes of your time.

The purpose of this survey is to gather information about workforce needs and practices in eight key industry sectors in the Limestone Coast. Those sectors are:

  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing
  • Manufacturing
  • Construction
  • Retail Trade
  • Accommodation, Cafes and Restaurants
  • Transport and Storage
  • Education and
  • Health and Community Services.

The information will be used to enable strategies to be put in place to support your business in that area of workforce development.

The project is being carried out but by the Limestone Coast Regional Development Board, through a project funded by the Department of Trade and Economic Development. Your information will be treated in a confidential manner, and no respondents will be linked to answers when reporting results. Helen will send all completing businesses a summary report of the findings. In addition, you will be in the mix for a random prize of $100 for completing the survey.

The survey form should be completed by the person who has responsibility for workforce issues in your business.
